Emerald City Comic Con

Hello!  I’m going to be at the Emerald City Comic Con this coming weekend!  It’s such a great show, so why don’t you come out and see me?  I’ll be at table F-9 with Ron Chan and Sean Kelly.
I’ll be selling copies of Flaccid Badger, Einbanstrasse Waltz, buttons, and prints, including a print of my Monsters and Dames piece. It’s not in the book, so the only place you can get it is at my table!

Hope to see you there!

Upcoming Changes

Hey ladies and gentlefolks! I wanted to alert you to the fact that I am tired of my current website design, and plan on starting a reboot of this site in the upcoming weeks. So, if anything here starts to look odd or out-of-place, that’s why. Hopefully it will be done quickly, with minimal disruption of your normal cattifer.com viewing pleasure!

Not Alone 6

Wow…. it’s been almost a month since I updated this thing.  That’s really, really sad.  This was supposed to be the easy one, too.  Done in a week, I thought.  Suuuuuure.  Well, in my defense, things have been pretty busy here at work, and not having an art-capable computer at home anymore has made things a little more difficult.  But I’m really going to try to be more consistent.  At the very least, not go another month without an update.

ANYHOW.

Here you go!  Episode 6!  Click to enlarge!

Not Alone 5!

Well, I know I’d said last time I’d wanted to keep this more consistent. As you can tell, I seem to have failed so far. But that’s fine. I’m not going to let one time set the mood for the rest of this series! Hopefully I can fall into some sort of rhythm on this eventually and there will be one every Tuesday. But until I get settled, things might be a bit spotty. If you can stand to bear with me, please do. I’ll update Twitter and Facebook when new ones come out.
Until then, enjoy this!  Yes, you can click on it to make it bigger!

New Arts!

Over the holiday, I decided to do some art as a present for my friend, Emi! If you aren’t familiar with her auto-bio web comic Emitown, you should check it out!
Anyhow, Ron, Emi, and I usually go out after work on Fridays and hang out. Emi dubbed it Medicine Friday, and it ended up sticking. Medicine Fridays are some of the best days ever, so I made some fan art.X3 This is colored with honest to goodness watercolor, something I don’t really do anymore. It was great to take a break from the crazy and do a full piece of artwork for a friend!

Not Alone 4!

Hey dudes!
It’s my birthday today! So in honor of me getting one year closer to old age and senility, I’m going to try and start up my web comic again!
Yeah, yeah, I know, not very cheerful. But you know what’s cheerful? Comics! Ok, this issue isn’t so cheerful, but I’ve got some catching up to do. Things will start getting cheerier soon!
Now, on with it! Enjoy!

Mononoke Pony

Hey folks!  I did a custom pony!  She’s based on San, from the movie Mononoke Hime.  I had a really fun time making this.  The little kodama are courtesy of Ron Chan.
You can see her, and a bunch of other sweet ponies at the OMG PWN!ES show at the Sequential Art Gallery on December.

Monsters and Dames

Well, I pushed myself hard to do an illustration for this year’s ECCC edition of Monsters and Dames. Of course, since no one had asked me to do one, and no one was expecting it, it probably won’t be in the book. However, I’m still not sorry I did it. I worked hard, used a bunch of new techniques, and completed it several days before the deadline. Now I have a nifty illustration I think I can be proud of, and will probably sell prints of this at cons.
If nothing else, all of my friends were doing awesome work for this, and I really wanted to be a part of it, and prove to myself that I can produce work. Nothing makes me feel worse than wondering if I’m just posing as someone in the art community in which I exist, or if I actually have the skills and drive to fit in.
Anyhow! Check it out! This piece is also doing double duty as concept art for a short film I’m working on in my spare time at Fashionbuddha. Of which I have very little, but still, I can do this!

Vrooooom!

Also, I built this sweet Lamborghini in Illustrator! Tedious as it was, it was also super fun to do, and I’m kind of proud of myself. I’m notoriously bad at drawing cars, usually.X3
